After a 25 year engineering career and while transitioning to a work for himself as a consulting Senior Cost Engineer & CEO, Jonathan Coy established The Bored Company on the 6th of August 2019.

Jonathan was skateboarding from the age of 4. During primary school he made his first sketches of motorised skateboards with suspension. Then later as a teenager after attempting to build a board with a gas engine he understood at that time the practical limitations and put the idea away for 2 decades.

Fast forward to 2015 and the lithium ion battery well established and one day Jonathan found the new world of electric skateboards already available online.  HE was an early adopter of production e-boards and since then he has never looked back. He started off with heavy riding and purchasing up the ladder of all best available boards in the market.

Having found various limitations he began to create his own unique one off  high performance electric skateboards by sourcing from the best component manufacturers in the world.

He is also working his own custom designs with new builds in the pipeline. Each build is unique and without compromises for its desired objective be it max range, max power or both. Versatility ot off road capability.

These prototypes are listed in the webstore and will be used to develop future custom builds for the marketplace.
